We all met for the visit outside of the museum to make the line for the visit. As it’s a very known museum with a huge reputation, we had to be early as the line would start to accumulate. There was a mixture of teachers that had been with us at Canterbury for months and other teachers who just arrived earlier this month. It was a very good mix of people as they all got to know each other and make new friends.

The visit was short but powerful as each of the paintings had a story behind it. We all got a good look at all of the paintings and sculptures that went way back to the 15th century and have been kept in the greatest of conditions. Many different recreations of the different spaces inside the house, where the museum is set, using all the different items they’ve collected over the many years the museum has been open.

Unfortunately for us, the second floor of the museum was closed due to maintenance so our visit was cut a little bit short. Nevertheless, all the paintings we got to see were very much of our liking. After finishing the tour, the group went outside to chill in the gardens of the museum to listen to the birds and enjoy the good weather.

At around 1pm we waved goodbye and found a funny surprise that one of our teachers arrived a bit late and got stuck in the long line. We talked with him while still in the line to tell him about the different paintings and took a nice “selfie” to remember the experience. Moral of the story is: Don’t be late or you’ll get stuck at the line!!!
