On December 24th 2022, we went ice skating followed by Christmas shopping in the Christmas street market in the Plaza de España. This was an once in a life-time chance to see Richard and his son Hector’s Olympic ice-skating routine and techniques on ice!

Once the rush of the ice-exhilaration was over, we shoped, shopped, shopped till we dropped in Plaza de España’s lovely outdoor Christmas market. For those of us (Ooops too busy!) who hadn’t yet bought presents for our loved ones, it was a perfect opportunity.

Afterwards we visited the Egyptian Temple of Debod and walked past the Royal Palace and ended up in another Christmas street market in la Plaza Mayor. Finally we had some drinks and tapas in a typical Madrileño café-bar.
