    •

    • Canterbury English´s Strong Ties with Australians, New Zealanders and South Africans
    • The founder of Canterbury English went to the University of Hawaii for a year and did a two month summer walk about, traveling extensively throughout the Pacific Ocean. He spent two weeks hitch-hiking around New Zealand with his surf board and skis. He tried to fly from Auckland to Australia, but when he called his father to help fund the airline ticket, his Dad told him that the buck stops here kid, you need to go back to Hawaii and study

    • So the founder hopes that one day he will be able to finish his Pacific tour off and travel to the land of Oz, as he has many Australian friends in Madrid and our first director of studies and secretary was an Australian woman from Sidney.

    • Part of the founders’ family live and work in Cape Town, South Africa, so Canterbury English has close ties with all three countries and warmly welcomes any AussiesKiwis and Saffers
    • to form part of the Canterbury English family!

    • If you ever hear him saying, “No worries mate,” at a pub night, it is an Australian/New Zealand expression that he picked up during his Pacific tour and still comes out with it once in a while, especially with a New Zealander or an Australian around.
