For this event we met at the plaza de Cibeles for the line to the monet exhibition. This exhibit is up until February 2024 and shows the work of the world known famous french painter, Claude Monet. This weekend activity was very different from the rest as only one of the teachers could make it. We met at the line and got to know each other while waiting for the entrance.

The exposition started with an immersive experience with the different paintings of Monet. He, among many other things, is well known for playing with the different lights and tones in the atmosphere that he caught in the moment. Many of these paintings were setting related. In other words, he took “screen shots” of the places he visited no matter what the conditions were.
As seen in the picture we took above, we can see how he used nature as a source of inspiration and used creative ways of portraying it. As that painting, many others followed and we were very fortunate to be able to to see them in person.

The exposition had numerous paintings in a very well distributed space where every painting was hung there for a reason. After seeing them all we headed out to the retiro park, where we had some coffee and chatted for a while until it was already the afternoon and time for lunch. Unfortunately, we forgot to take a “selfie” of the coffee at the Retiro park for the record. Very fun and cultural activity as we got to know more about Monet than we did yesterday!!
