Why Does CE Have Over Seventy Positive and Some Negative Reviews?
Summary
1) English Schools with 35 Years of History will always have positive and negative reviews.
2) Focus on the positive and not on the negative (otherwise give up the dream).
3) Closely read the other side of the story to the negative review & weed out the one-sided bias:
- – Or see through the hidden agenda of the person who wrote it.
4) After graduating and employing over 7500 English teachers since 1991, there are inevitably going to be some individuals who, for various reasons, are not 100% satisfied with their experience.
5) In order to protect others, CE is obliged to occasionally withdraw someone from our program if they are causing problems with the school, or with CE, Spanish or TEFL staff members, teachers or clients, and we reserve the right to do so.
6) The negative reviews were written by people who came to Madrid on our program (or who didn’t even arrive in Spain), but who then dropped out of our courses and who stayed illegally (under European and Spanish law for student visas) in Spain on our one-year visa curriculum and they:
DID NOT EXPERIENCE OUR PROGRAM.
– They did not participate in our TEFL course (did not go to one TEFL class).
– They did not go to any Spanish classes during the school year of daily classes.
– They did not attend any of our weekly Social Cultural Activities.
– They had no contact with us after their initial work orientation.
As a result, these individuals were withdrawn from Canterbury English as an English teacher and as a Spanish student and have very little knowledge of our multi-faceted program, to be able to make a well-informed comment about our school. It would be like someone who has never tasted the ice cream saying, “I don’t like the ice cream.”
Individuals who are withdrawn, don’t usually write positive reviews.
So far, nobody, who has fully participated in our program and:
– Graduated from our TEFL course.
– Attended our daily Spanish classes.
– Participated in our weekend Social Cultural Events.
– Received English teaching jobs through us and our partner / collaborating schools.
Has written anything negative about Canterbury English. On the contrary, they have almost always given us five-star reviews.
6) CE has approximately 96% positive and only 4% negative reviews, which is FAR ABOVE the a) English school b) TEFL academy and c) Spanish school industry average.
7) We would advise you to use your discretion, rather than to believe everything you read, and focus on the positive, if you want to:
- a) Pay less than one third of the normal price for a Spanish program with a 1 yr. student visa.
- b) Take a 25-year tried-and-true, internationally reputed TEFL program.
- c) Land a great job teaching English in a school or an English academy, as well as receiving high paying private classes from CE.
- d) Live in the most incredible country in the world, teaching the warm-hearted, fun-loving Spanish.
- e) Experience the electrifying, European capital city vibe.
- f) Learn the Spanish language with us every day.
- g) Experience the mind-blowing Spanish culture with us every weekend.
- h) Become a part of our Canterbury English family and community of positive minded English teachers.
- i) And much, much more.
